Roy “Pat” Krick…85 of Lake Benton formerly of Pipestone passed away July 20, 2009 at Divine Providence Nursing Home in Ivanhoe.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Lake Benton at 11:00a.m. on Saturday July 25th. Burial will be in St. Genevieve Catholic Cemetery, Lake Benton.

Roy “Pat” Edward Krick was born March 16, 1924 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Nicholas and Mae (Koch) Krick. He was baptized at Little Falls and confirmed at Pipestone, MN. Pat graduated from Pipestone High School. He entered the United States Air Force on April 27, 1943 and served in the European Theatre as an aerial gunner during WW II. He completed 35 missions over France and Germany. Pat received the Air Medal, Four Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross, and was honorably discharged on October 17, 1945.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Freiberg on June 6, 1946 in Lake Benton. This union was blessed with six children. Patricia passed away August 26, 1977. Pat married Donna Sorensen on June 30, 1979 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lake Benton. He was a member of the Pipestone VFW for a few years and the Lake Benton Henry Solie Post # 10 for 64 years. Pat was active in St. Genevieve Catholic Church and the Lake Benton Service Club. He worked and played at Hog Feeds and Turkey Shoots in Lake Benton and Pipestone. He loved to play cards, hunt, golf and fish,and played for the Lake Benton baseball town team in his earlier years. Pat was a family man and loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Donna of 30 years; Children: Karen (Larry) Mergener of Marine on St. Croix, Ken (Cathi) Krick of Inver Grove Heights, Mike (Karla) Krick of Marine on St. Croix, Tim (Dawn) Krick of Henderson, NV, Diane (Bob) Low of Toronto, Canada, Jon (Leslie) Krick of New Castle, CO; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; Brothers: Art (Lorraine) Krick of Omaha, NE, Bill (Dorothy) Krick of Fairmont; sisters-in-law: LaVonne (Lloyd) Larson of Remer, MN, Marlys (Rudy) Imhoff of Little Fork, MN and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Patricia, daughter Margo, son Bryan Sorensen, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
